Haaland a doubt for City

Malik Ouzia

ERLING HAALAND could miss Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Liverpool tomorrow because of a groin problem.

The Norway forward (right) pulled out of international duty with the injury, sitting out the Euro qualifiers against Spain and Georgia.

Haaland did not train with his team-mates as they returned from the break on Thursday, sparking concern he could be sidelined for tomorrow’s meeting.

The fixture marks the start of the Premier League run-in, with City trying to close the gap on leaders Arsenal, who host Leeds later in the day.

The Gunners have an eight-point cushion at the top but have played a game more than the defending champions and still have to go to the Etihad. Haaland had been in superb form prior to being injured, scoring five in the Champions League thrashing of RB Leipzig and then netting a hat-trick against Burnley to fire City into the FA Cup semi-finals. The 22-year-old has 28 goals in 26 top-flight appearances this season.
