WARNINGS ‘IGNORED’ BEFORE SIX-YEAR-OLD SHOT TEACHER

A SCHOOL board in Virginia voted last night to oust a district superintendent after it was claimed that authorities were warned three times that a child had a gun before he shot and wounded his teacher.

Abigail Zwerner, 25, was “shot purposely” in the chest at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News on January 6 after administrators ignored the warnings the six-year-old posed a threat, the teacher’s lawyer Diane Toscano claimed. She plans to file a lawsuit against the school district on behalf of Ms Zwerner. The board voted five to one to relieve George Parker of his duties with severance of around $500,000.
