Tube to run on solar and wind energy

ENERGY from solar power and wind farms will be used to run the London Underground, Sadiq Khan said today.

To mark the start of London Climate Action Week, the mayor announced the Tube will be powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2030 as part of his commitment to make the capital “carbon-neutral” by the end of the decade.
