‘UNPRECEDENTED’ CHALLENGES TO FOOD BUSINESS

FOOD maker Cranswick said it had been hit with an “unprecedented” set of challenges as staffing and supply chain issues batter the logistics and production industries, despite delivering revenues above £2 billion for the first time in its full year results. The figures come as the UN warned of an “acute” food crisis due to the war in Ukraine.

Profit for the group behind Weight Watchers and Simply Sausages was 13% higher for the year at £130 million. Cranswick shares, down 20% this year, today rose 38p to 3202p.
