Need for speed — Cruise and Corden get jet set

JAMES CORDEN and Tom Cruise swapped carpool karaoke for a fighter jet when they re-enacted scenes from Top Gun.
The actor was appearing on The Late Late Show to promote the 1986 film’s sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which is being released in cinemas
on Friday. He took Corden up in the air in the jet, with the chat show host looking distressed and swearing as a series of manoeuvres were carried out.
Cruise referred to Corden as his “Goose”, a reference to one of Top Gun’s best-known characters.
Corden replied: “When you say I am your Goose, it makes me feel excited — and then I realise that Goose dies at the end of the film.”
In the new film, Cruise reprises his role as pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who has to confront the ghosts of his past as he trains a young squadron of aviators for a dangerous mission.
