FIRST PLANES CARRYING AID ARRIVE IN TONGA

THE FIRST planes carrying humanitarian supplies arrived in Tonga today, five days after it was hit by a volcanic eruption and tsunami.

Emergency supplies were initially delayed after thick ash covering the runways prevented planes from being able to land.
