A 66-year-old man has been charged with the “Lady in the Lake” murder of a millionaire’s daughter whose death has been unsolved for nearly 35 years.
Shani Warren was found bound and gagged in three feet of water in Taplow Lake, near Maidenhead, on the day after Good Friday in 1987.
The 26-year-old went missing as she drove from her home in Stoke Poges to dispose of grass cuttings.
Thames Valley Police said this morning that Donald Robertson, 66, who used to live in Slough, has now been charged with Ms Warren’s murder.
Robertson is also accused of the kidnap and rape of a 16-year-old girl in Farnham Lane, Slough, in July 1981.
He was due to appear before High Wycombe magistrates court today.
