Jorgensen wants finishing power

MATHIAS JORGENSEN has warned that Brentford need to be more clinical as they look to build on their fine start to life in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank’s side were given another harsh lesson on being more ruthless as they lost 2-1 to Leicester yesterday despite dominating possession and being the better side.

Defender Jorgensen equalised in the second half after Youri Tielemans had put Leicester ahead with a tremendous strike. But as Brentford pressed for a winner they were caught out by a quick Leicester counter and James Maddison won it for the visitors.

It was another frustrating afternoon for Brentford, who had 15 shots but came away with nothing, like against Chelsea a week ago.

“The Premier League is all about being clinical,” said Jorgensen. “Having the guy that wins the game for you, whether that is a keeper that makes a great save or a defender that makes a great block, a striker that gets that goal. I think we have so much quality up front and we will keep scoring goals, I am not worried about that. But obviously, on a day like this, it does hurt that we don’t get anything, or any more, out of all the chances we had today.”

Brentford are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Stoke in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Frank is likely to make changes, while Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo will be assessed after coming off with injuries yesterday.
