BP AND Vespa-maker Piaggio want to accelerate the take-up of two- and three-wheeled electric vehicles to cut congestion and pollution in big cities.
The FTSE 100-listed oil major today announced a tie-up with the Italian firm to establish a network of charging points and battery-swap stations for electric motorbikes, e-scooters and compact delivery vehicles spanning Asia and Europe. They will also lease and recycle batteries and vehicles.
BP has committed to reaching netzero emissions by 2050 under CEO Bernard Looney.
