Car’s the star prize with no petrol in green ITV schedule

GAME SHOW champs and This Morning competition winners will no longer get gas-guzzlers as prizes.
ITV is axing petrol and diesel cars from on-screen giveaways - like the hatchbacks handed out by Jim Bowen in darts quiz Bullseye, left - as part of plans to go green. Instead, it will offer only hybrid or electric vehicles as prizes from next spring.
ITV said it is also “reviewing all opportunities” to switch to hybrid and electric vehicles across its own car fleet.
The plans are part of a climate action strategy under which the broadcaster aims to reduce its emissions by almost half within the next nine years.
Executive bonuses will be linked to climate targets, as will future debt deals. New programmes will be audited for their carbon footprint and shows will feature more coverage of green issues.
