RUSSIA GUILTY OF LITVINENKO KILLING

RUSSIA was responsible for the assassination of Alexander Litvinenko in London, the European Court of Human Rights ruled today.

Former Russian FSB agent Mr Litvinenko went on to work with MI6 after fleeing to the UK.

The 43-year-old, an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, died in 2006 after drinking tea laced with the potent radioactive isotope Polonium 210.

“Russia was responsible for the assassination of Aleksandr Litvinenko in the UK,” the court said in a statement on its ruling.
