MCDONALD’S today said it was “working hard” to restore milkshakes to its menus after running out of supplies. The fast-food chain said it was experiencing some supply chain issues, with some bottled drinks also temporarily unavailable at its 1,250 UK outlets. It is the latest company to be hit by supply issues caused by a shortage of lorry drivers due to new EU immigration rules and Covid restrictions. A McDonald’s spokesman said staff were “working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible”. Last week, Nandos shut about 50 restaurants because of chicken shortages.
