Wright’s turn sparks a debate
EDGAR WRIGHT’S star turn as a talking head in his own documentary about rock band Sparks has got tongues wagging — but he insists it’s not his fault and has now named the man responsible. “I wasn’t planning to be in it, but it was literally because another director who shall remain nameless — Tim Burton [pictured] — flaked on us and we suddenly had three hours free in the studio,” he told a Q&A and screening at BFI Southbank last night. “I was like, ‘Well, I could talk’.” And the rest was history.
