SPRINTER BOARDS FREEDOM FLIGHT

A BELARUSIAN sprinter who claimed her life was in danger over a dispute with officials was due to land in Vienna this afternoon after boarding a “freedom” flight from Tokyo.

Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, 24, entered Narita airport with an entourage. She is said to be under the care of the Polish diplomatic service. Poland has granted her a humanitarian visa.

She claimed her Olympic team officials tried to force her on a flight back to Belarus after she criticised coaching staff.
