Dunkley wins landmark cap

SOPHIA DUNKLEY today became the first black woman to play Test cricket for England, writes Malik Ouzia.

The Surrey star was presented with her cap ahead of the start of the day’s play in the one-off match against India at Bristol.

Heather Knight, captaining England for the 100th time, won the toss and chose to bat. She said: “Dunks deserves this, she’s been outstanding in domestic cricket.”
