Ronaldo sets his sights on record
CRISTIANO RONALDO is pursuing Ali Daei’s all-time international goal record, after becoming the highest scorer in European Championship history.
Ronaldo scored twice last night, as three late goals gave holders Portugal a 3-0 victory against a stubborn Hungary side who were roared on by a crowd of more than 60,000 in Budapest.
The 36-year-old scored his 10th and 11th European Championship goals to eclipse France maestro Michel
Platini, who had been level with him on nine.
Ronaldo now has 106 international goals and is just three behind Iran’s Ali Daei as he targets yet another record.
