Small-cap spotlight

BEST of the Best, which runs competitions online to win cars and other prizes, today posted a big jump in annual profits to £14 million after ditching its airport-based estate in favour of a digital-only model. The timely switch helped revenues increase to £45.7 million for the year to April 30, but the AIM-quoted shares fell 28% or 730p to 1,900p after chief executive William Hindmarch reported a reduction in customer engagement following the latest easing of lockdown restrictions, a trend he believes will be short-lived.
