THE graceful curves of the new Compton and Edrich stands at Lord’s have provided a perfect shop window for Severfield, Britain’s biggest steel contractor.
The group — which also helped build stands at Fulham’s Craven
Cottage — today cheered annual sales reaching their highest level in 10 years.
Revenue increased 11% to £363.3 million in the year to March while its order book up to £301 million from £287 million in the UK and Europe.
But the UK’s biggest steel contractor was not immune from the impact of Covid, with pre-tax profits down to £21.1million from £25.8million in the year prior.
It had a busy year with projects despite that and said a “high quality
UK and Europe order book supports continued growth throughout the 2022 financial year and beyond.”
Severfield, led by Alan Dunsmore, also saw work boosted from its acquisition of Yorkshire’s DAM Structures.
