Smallest-ever gap between central London and suburban rents as prices hit lowest level in 8 years

WORKING from home rather than commuting and a new emphasis on space means renting in central London has never been cheaper relative to the suburbs than it is now. Exclusive research by Hamptons for Homes & Property shows that the difference between inner and outer

London rents has fallen to only 26 per cent, compared with 74 per cent two years ago. In summer 2013, inner London rents were almost double those away from the centre.

Rent now costs £2,017 per month on average in the centre versus £1,596 in outer London, after the cost of renting in the heart of the city plummeted to the lowest level in eight years.
