ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES LAUNCHED AFTER GAZA FIRE BALLOONS

ISRAEL carried out a series of airstrikes against militant targets in the Gaza Strip in retaliation to incendiary balloons being launched from the territory.

The strikes targeted armed compounds used by Hamas for meetings to plan attacks, the Israeli military said.

Militants had earlier launched balloons that caused at least 10 fires in southern Israel.

It followed a march by Jewish nationalists in occupied East Jerusalem. The strikes are the first flare-up since 11 days of fighting ended in a ceasefire.
