MUSK SAYS TESLA WON’T ACCEPT BITCOIN DUE TO FOSSIL FUEL USE

ELON MUSK has said his electric car firm Tesla will stop accepting Bitcoin as payment for its vehicles over environmental concerns.

“We are concerned about rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining and transactions, especially coal, which has the worst emissions of any fuel,” he wrote on Twitter.

The billionaire was referring to the process by which new bitcoins are entered into circulation, which uses energy-intensive computers.
